10. The Columbia Museum of Art- At the outset it may seem like just another modern art museum, but it’s much more than that. Treasures such as Boticelli’s Nativity have been donated to this museum by the Samuel H. Kress Foundation. The place also has an exclusive European collection in which Monet’s spellbinding view of the Seine is visible. Group activities such as art classes, tours, concerts, and others are also organized here.  

9. Congaree National Park- This park has the largest forest of old hardwoods in the United States at present. 7. Saluda Shoals Park- The lush Saluda Shoals Park, which is a just a few miles away from downtown Columbia, has been built on the shores of the Saluda River. The venue is home to the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission Headquarters, a huge Environment Education Center and Exhibit Hall, as well as a modern meeting and conference center. Additionally, you will find a massive observation deck, several miles of bicycling, horse riding and hiking trails here. Many people participate in kayaking in the river’s peaceful waters.

6. Villa Tronco- The rustic interiors and homely atmosphere of this lavish restaurant will welcome you in Columbia. With a 75-year old history, it is the oldest restaurants in the state of SC. You will get to see Columbia’s migrant history while you savor the delicious Italian fare. A must try dish here is the Pollo Parmigiana. The owner Carmella’s cheesecake is truly one of the finest cheesecakes in the town of Columbia. Whoever craves old fashioned Italian food should definitely pay a visit to this place. The city of Columbia is recognized as the first city of the US, named after the famous explorer Christopher Columbus. Its history is one of the main reasons you find a lot of archaic architecture here. It is certainly a city you would love to spend time in.
