As we start Summer, the desire to go outside and enjoy lots of sunny, fun-filled events will grow daily. While we encourage everyone to follow the safety guidelines to stop the spread of COVID-19, we wanted to highlight some can’t-miss events in Columbia, SC that will help you get out of the house, enjoy the Summer heat, and most importantly, have fun! Listed below are a few suggestions for what to do this July in and around Columbia, SC.

July 3rd - Star Spangled Symphonic Salute

Few things remind us more of Summer than a Fourth of July blowout! Most people celebrate by gathering with friends and family, having a big cookout with delicious food like burgers and hot dogs, and then ending the evening by watching a spectacle of colorful fireworks. To complete the holiday festivities, come listen to the Lake Murray Symphony Orchestra play patriotic classics along the beautiful Saluda Shoals river. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets as you celebrate Independence Day with your family and friends.

July 11th - 6th Annual South Carolina Food Truck & Beer Festival

Bring an empty stomach and get ready for a great night of food, drinks, and fun! Food Truck Festivals of America is hosting their 6th annual South Carolina Food Truck & Beer Festival in Columbia, SC. More than 25 of South Carolina’s most popular food trucks will be there serving their most popular dishes with over 50 national, regional and local beers to choose from. At the end of the night, you will get to vote to see which vendor wins the “Best Thing I Ate!” award. Plus, there will also be fun lawn games, a bouncy house, and live music available, so bring the family along to enjoy one of the best events Columbia has to offer! 

As an added bonus and to show their gratitude,  if you’re a first responder, whether you be a hospital worker, fireman, policeman, EMT, etc., you will be admitted free attendance with a valid ID.

July 25th - Drink Pink Rosé Festival

This is a can’t-miss opportunity for anyone who loves wine. The southeast’s largest Rosé Festival comes back to Columbia for its fifth year and gives guests an evening filled with incredible wine, food, and entertainment. Kristian Niemi, from restaurants Bourbon and Black Rooster, will be preparing three different types of paella, including seafood, vegetarian and game, so come hungry, too. The famous City Roots venue will be covered with pink and white for the event, so grab your tickets and get ready for an awesome evening!
