We all know that the new Honda models that we here at Midlands Honda keep in stock are not only reliable, but also sleek, stylish, and most importantly rather environmentally friendly. Honda boasts some of the most fuel-efficient, and eco-conscious vehicles on the road today, and it all starts at their production facilities.
According to Car Talk expert Jim Motavalli, around 80 percent of the parts used in Honda's U.S. lineup are not only locally produced, but also among the cleanest around. Around the plant many efforts are made to not only ensure that Honda's vehicles are the best that they can be, but also to make sure that the plant's produce as little waste as possible... and much of that time, the amount of waste produced at these plants is zero. During his visit to the Honda plant in Marysville, Ohio, Motavalli saw firsthand, just how the Big H attempts to keep everything efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly at their plant.
While getting the inside scoop on Honda's production habits, Motavalli saw the assembly of the ever-popular Honda Accord. In seeing the Accord produced, Motavalli noted that the plant workers' "coordinated movements [that] they could teach ballet students as choreography"1 and later wrote," If it appears that there are no wasted movements, that's because Honda is relentless at eliminating them."2
The result of such flawless effort is present in each of the new Honda models that we carry here at 124 Killian Commons Parkway Columbia, SC 29203. If you'd like to see for yourself why Honda's vehicles are held in such high regard, then don't hesitate to arrange a test drive with us today. Think that Honda's green efforts are simply to create a solid brand image for themselves? Think again. Honda's motives for keeping things green have nothing to do with saving money or increasing their public reputation. Rather, the people at Honda share a genuine passion for keeping the environment healthy, protected, and clean.
But, we think that perhaps Honda's greatest green measurement that they take is see not in the plant, but rather outside and around it. See, Honda really does put every inch of available space to use at their facility. So, in addition to producing cars at the plant, Honda also farms the land around the building, raising organic Soybeans. In fact, Honda's organic soybean farm happens to be the largest in the entire state of Ohio.
It is clear that Honda is putting every resource to use in order to ensure that they continue to provide the best vehicles on the road today. If you'd like to learn more about the models that we keep in stock, then be sure to check out the inventory and showroom sections of our website.
