Why stop when you have a good thing going? That's what Honda and the NHL found themselves asking recently when the three year deal that both companies signed was coming to a close. The Japanese automaker and the National Hockey League had signed an exclusive deal that benefitted both sides equally, and when the time came for the two entities to part ways, well, both decided that just wasn't in the books.

We here at Midlands Honda are pleased to announce that Honda and the NHL have signed another three-year contract slated to extend through 2014. As such, as thought we'd take a minute to cover exactly what this deal entails and why both sides are so eager to keep it going for as long as possible.

Honda will serve as the sponsor for key NHL events, including the NHL Super Skills and NHL All-Star Award MVP. In return, Honda will be given the exclusive rights t the best in-ice and on-air advertising. While there are other fiscal factors in this partnership, neither side has opted to disclose what they are at this time.

Tom Peyton, Brand Manager, Honda explains, "With the considerable growth and popularity of hockey and the improved and robust media offerings in the last couple of years, the NHL continues to provide us with broader media buy options and greater exposure platforms. This partnership continues to be a great fit for Honda as we share a similar and attractive demographic with the NFL - young, affluent and educated."¹

Of course, we can't think of any better way to travel to hockey games than in a new Honda of your own.
