Honda Invests in Jobs in Indiana

At Midlands Honda we love hearing about the ways that the Big H is working to employ better strategies and more people in the production of its vehicles. Previously, we reported on the Japanese automaker's plans to expand the various facilities that it runs in Ohio in order to continue promoting its green practices. Now the attention has turned to Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC (HMIN), which is adding a whole new production shift to its plant in Greenburg.
With the addition of this new production shift comes nearly 1,000 new jobs to be filled. The goal with this new manufacturing effort is to bring the plant's production capacity to the full 200,000 unit-per-year capacity that the plant is capable of. HMIN President Jun Nishimoto calls "an important step forward in the realization of our dream."1
Another significant step that Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC has taken is in the production of the Honda Civic sedan and Civic Natural Gas. Both vehicles have been highly praised for their incredible quality and craftsmanship. In fact, they've even been honored by J.D. Power and Associates with a platinum title in the 2011 Initial Quality Survey.
"Our associates have made this one of the highest quality plants in the world, and now we have the opportunity to share their commitment to excellence with even more Honda customers. It's a great day for Honda in Indiana," Nishimoto recently stated.
